Origin of the name
A chausu is the stone mill used to grind matcha — its circular grinding motion is the classic metaphor for woman-on-top positions in shijūhatte. Shigure means a passing autumn drizzle, a poetic nod to what the man gets to see with her sitting upright. One of the most lyrical names in the whole repertoire.
Tips
Kneeling astride (rather than squatting) spreads her weight and saves her thighs. Mix the grinding motion with vertical strokes at her own pace; the man matches her rhythm from below. If she then leans forward chest-to-chest, the position flows seamlessly into Hon-chausu — a natural combo worth remembering.
